Happy Birthday Howie, hope all is well with you and your family.
Donny Baker and I first met at Pollard Junior High and became great friends. Donny had a 1956 red & white Chevy convertible, that he loved and was constantly working on. Throughout high school, it was always Friday nights at Ho Jo’s with Donny, George, Les, John & I. Saturday nights were date night. Sunday afternoons we would all get back together, except Les he had something called homework to do! Donny was a quiet person but he sure did enjoy a good time. We remained close friends after high school, as well. When I returned from Vietnam, one of my first dates with my wife was a double date to Paragon Park at Nantasket Beach with Donny and his girlfriend, who soon became his wife. The four of us had a lot of great times together. I will never forget that morning in October, 42 years ago, when my wife and I got the call that Donny had been killed the night before in an automobile accident in Walpole. I lost a very good friend that night. My wife and I still think and talk about him often. Rest in Peace, Donny!! You are missed.
