David R. Sherman 67, of Punta Gorda, Florida, formerly of Bellingham, MA passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at The Tidewell Hospice Home in Port Charlotte, Florida with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn M. (Conte) Sherman. They had recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary.
Born In Needham, MA on January 20, 1946, he was the son of the late Frank and Alice (Bouchard) Sherman. He was the loving father of Donna M. Boni and her husband John of Bellingham, MA, and Lori J. Moore and her husband Charles of Mendon, MA. He was the proud grandfather of his cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Derek, Emily, and Danielle. He was the brother of Frank Sherman of Mansfield, MA, Evelyn Marley of Walpole MA, Diane Foley of Canton, MA, Karen Driscoll of Centerville, MA and the late Richard Sherman of Plainville, MA.
Mr. Sherman worked for G.E. Medical Systems in Westboro, MA for 25 years, recently retiring to Punta Gorda, Florida. He was a communicant of St.Joseph's Church in Woonsocket, RI. He was an avid gardener and sports enthusiast his entire life. He was a fervent follower of all of the New England sports teams, the Red Sox and Patriots being his favorites. He had a passion for the game of golf and was a member of Country View GC in Burrillville, RI. David's greatest joy was the love and enjoyment of family, especially his four grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and will always remain in our hearts.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, January 18th at St. Joseph’s Church, 1200 Mendon Road, Woonsocket, RI beginning with visitation with family at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM.
