I met Bill sometime around 1963 and we became fast friends.  I remember spending many evenings at the Owens home on GPA with other friends and Bill's parents and sisters.  What a wonderful family.

Bill and I shared a strong enjoyment in skiing and I have many wonderful rememberences of many days on the slopes, especially one particular day at Cannon Mountain.  What fun to ski with someone who was hard to keep up with, he was a very good and agressve skier.

Bill and I double dated to the senior prom.  We went to dinner at the Lord Fox and acted all grownup.  What fun we had.  Soon after that, Bill and I commuted together to GM in Framingham at 5:30AM to work on the assembly line.  We worked hard together at that time.

We saw Bill a short time before he passed away at a party at Al Clifford's home.  There were a bunch of old friends there that evening - Al, Bill, Steve Fabrucci, Dick Coughlin, Dave Buckley and Shel Cooper.  What fun.

As I look back remembering my friend, I have nothing but wonderful memories.  I am happy and proud to have been Bill's friend.

I met Bill in fourth grade when both our names ended in the letter "y".   We were friends through high school and remained in contact through university.   Time and distance had the usual consequences subsequently.   Those early years were special and full of fun.   Over time the world changed, first names lost the "y", and life got more complicated.  When I learned of Bill's death at what now seems like a young age, I felt a loss I had not expected.  Bill was gone.  Memories of Billy and growing up with a good friend in a very different time remain.
