Connie McNeilly and I met at the Needham Railroad station before I met her in school. She was there with her Mom to meet her Dad coming home from work and I was with my Mom for the same reason. Our Dads traveled together to Boston each morning and each night and our Mom's knew each other because of the daily train event and they became friends. Connie and I attended different grade schools so we didn't pal around until both our Mom's became Brownie leaders and they started getting together. Then Connie and I became friends as well.

We drifted apart as time went on but still laughed together about being little 8 and 9yr olds with Mom's that were our Brownie leaders and stricter with us than any others in the troup and how just as events at the Methodist Church MYF became fun, my family moved to the newly built Presbyterian Church.

I was saddened by her death, and didn't know until the 1990 (25th Re-union) update sheet came out with Connie listed among the 14 on the Memoriam page. I don't know when she passed away but like the 13 others on that list it was at too young an age as it was for one's we've lost since.

What I remember most about Connie was her ever present smile, her laugh, her energy and her enthusiasm for what tomorrow may bring.
