I was friends with Pete in high school. We hung out with the same group of outliers. He was smart and artistic.
Like many of us, he went in the military right after high school. He served with honor in Vietnam fighting against communism. He won the Bronze Star. I recall those times: meeting at The Common, hanging at Dickey's, making the beer run, going to Ho Jos. The great thing I remember about Pete was he was his own man. Independent individual. Saw him a few times after we all got home. He was industrious in pursuing and developing his talents. I'm happy that I was friends with him. His life still speaks. He was a success.
