Survived By: Sons Terry and David, 6 grandchildren, and brother Joel (NHS '70)

After graduating from Hofstra University in 1970 with majors in the Russian & Chinese languages, Mark enlisted in the U.S. Army. After basic training at Ft. Dix, Intelligence Training at Ft. Holabird and finally one year at the Defense Language Institute (Japanese) he was posted to Kure, Japan where he met and married his wife, Sadae. He was transferred to Camp Zama just outside Tokyo in 1977 and remained there until retirement in 2005. Mark and Sadae moved to Eugene, OR upon Mark's retirement and grew to love the Pacific Northwest.
