My family moved from the city to the "Winslow's" neighborhood in the summer before third grade, and there I met Charlene, who became my first childhood friend in Needham. I remember her as a kind, funny person, who loved animals, especially her little beagle. After high school, we lost touch, only to become Facebook friends several years ago, She posted lovely pictures, of her daughter, her home near the mountains in North Carolina, her beautiful flowers and her precious pets. I will miss hearing from her.
